"The illegal drug industry is now a worldwide enterprise with tens of millions of hard core consumers spending hundreds of billions on cocaine, amphetamines and marijuana, as well as other drugs. The single largest marketplace for illegal drugs continues to be the United States. These two groups - hard core users and casual users - spend approximately $60 billion dollars a year, according to U.S. government estimates." ... This is a partially symbolic painting showing handguns on piles of US bank notes, a pair of hands self-injecting an addictive drug into a vein, and another pair of hands assisting in the injection. In the background are a speed boat and a small aircraft, both commonly used to convey drugs across borders into the US.
